This is complicated, but I'm hoping someone out there has info. I have two frozen embryos in storage that were created in 2005 with my eggs and donor sperm. I am going through a cycle to use those embryos (FET). I passed all the STD tests with no problem, but my RE caught wind of the fact that I have an occasional sexual partner and he is now insisting that my partner be tested as well. I have argued with them about this, as I don't see what his sperm has to do with the equation...they know I am clean...they know the embryos are clean...but they insist he has to be tested. I'm in the middle of this FET cycle and am now having to jump through this seemingly insane hoop. They are citing it as an FDA requirement -- which I also cannot locate in the federal register.
Does anyone have any insight into this? Those of you with husbands but using donor sperm, did your husbands have to be tested?
